The Women of Grace 5K Walk

Over the summer of 2022, the Women of Grace organized and participated in a 5K walk fundraiser. We managed to raise £167 which was put towards our regular workshops and providing essential items and support for women and girls.

The 5K walk was a great way to get members of the community involved and show the different ways in which the community can contribute and help our cause, whilst also continuing to raise awareness about why we do what we do. Check back on our events page to see how you can get involved in any of our future fundraisers!

UNFOLD

UNFOLD 2022 was the official launch event for Women of Grace back in March 2022. This event was a way for those interested in Women of Grace to find out more about what we do, what we stand for and why it is important to raise awareness about the harms of FGM and gender-based violence. UNFOLD was also a way to bring the community together and create a safe space where people could share their thoughts and seek advice. Our speakers for UNFOLD included experts such as Henrietta Odey, who focuses on body safety, and Dr Comfort Momoh (MBE), an anti-FGM campaigner.

Are you aware that there are over 200 million Female Genital Mutilated survivors alive today and it is estimated that 70 million girls face being cut by 2030?

This horrendous practice is still very much in existence today and the lives of millions of girl children in places where female genital mutilation has become a part of social and cultural norms are in Danger.

Therefore, it is time to Unfold. It is time to break free from societal norms and condemn the tradition of FGM.

Eliminating the practice of FGM will take all of us, we need you.

You are invited to our FGM awareness program ”UNFOLD” happening on the 25th of March 2023.

Let's come together Unfold and put an end to FGM.

The THRIVE Project

The THRIVE project is a series of ten online workshops happening bi-monthly. The purpose of THRIVE is to empower women who have had to deal with gender-based violence and its traumatic consequences. Through THRIVE, Women of Grace also aims to raise awareness about FGM amongst minoritized women in Hertfordshire and Essex.

Each workshop draws on the knowledge and experience of various experts, like Joy Clarke, an FGM specialist, and Adelaide Nenguke, a trauma coach. The workshops will be covering topics such as breaking cycles of abuse, healing the mind and body, and safeguarding and mental health.

The THRIVE project will be running from September 9th to November 11th. Check out our Instagram to see how to get involved!
