Community Projects — Women Of Grace

Women of Grace supporting minority women during tough times with food vouchers.

Women of Grace, UK hosted a foodfest, where we celebrated culture through food. We understand that most FGM practices are deeply rooted in culture, hence the need to gather the community, so as to understand cultural diversity as we all fight to end FGM. We had fun doing that.

At the National FGM Centre, our founder, Valerie Lolomari shared her story as a survivor and one with leading experience, inspiring and creating more awareness about FGM and the real-life challenges women and girls face, especially those who have been victims of FGM practices across the world.

Women of Grace was invited and given access to the Brazilian community to raise awareness around FGM, while stressing the importance of reporting the harmful practices of FGM

We joined other activists in the city to raise awareness and speak out against FGM. The event was ably attended by dignitaries

Women of Grace UK had a stall during the fresher’s week, which gave us the opportunity to raise awareness about

FGM, as well as recruit young volunteers who have been integrated into the community and trained to carry on the message of putting an end to the practice of FGM
